Ever wish that achy low back would just disappear and you could wake up feeling refresh and energised instead of stiff, tired and pissed off? A stiff low back can not only make getting out of bed seem like the most challenging thing in the world but it can also impact your mood, relationships, work and your ability to live a happy and healthy life.
I know because I’ve been there and it’s definitely no fun.
For 3 years I suffered chronic low back pain that affected EVERY area of my life. I saw a surgeon for 6 months to get lumbar facet joint injections (don’t recommend those), and a physio for close to 10 months before I discovered pilates.
Pilates changed everything for me. Most importantly, it gave me my life back and as a teacher, that’s what I want for you too.
Sound good? Then read on to find out how to get started.
The magic of pilates is in the method – and in particular, the 3 simple steps I’m teaching in this FREE beginners series. These three things are pretty much the building blocks of any pilates practice, I teach them week in and week out in my classes, and it’s worth understanding them to make sure you’re getting the true benefits of pilates.
Understanding these three things changed my life and once you understand them, they will change your life too. With these 3 things in your back pocket, you’ll be on track to rid yourself of any sort of back, neck, shoulder pain and build strength in a new and intelligent way, future proofing your body for the long haul.
And if you've been holding yourself back making this excuse for a long time – “I’m totally not flexible enough for pilates” - then don’t worry because in part 4, you’ll learn why you don’t have to be flexible to do pilates (this is probably the number 1 reason people give me for not being able ‘to do’ pilates. The other reasons are in this blog post FYI).
And it’s as easy as clicking this link and signing up to get started – you don’t need any equipment and everything is delivered straight to your inbox making it a simple and easy way to learn in your own time.
Step 2: Plan 15 minute in your day to do the video when suits
When you’re ready to start the series, then all you have to do is block out 15 minutes in your day to watch and learn. That’s right – 15 minutes! I know from teaching hundreds of busy men and woman that finding 60 minutes to take a pilates class can be a challenge, so I kept the videos short so as you can easily slot them into your day at a time that works best for you – my goal with this series, and in everything that I do, is to make your plate less full, not add to it!
You can watch the videos as many times as you like and take the whole series at your own pace. All I ask is that you try and commit to 15 minutes in your day to do the work. If you find it hard to keep on track then let your partner know that you need 15 minutes time out for yourself or share the link with a friend and do the series together – keeping each other accountable - or let me know and I’ll email you to support and encourage you along!
Why not grab your diary now and look at where you might have a spare 15 minutes for your first video in the next day or two then pop the time in, making an important promise to your heart and mind that you matter.
If in doubt, let me remind you that the ROI on your health is priceless. I learned this the hard way and that's not what I want for you.
Don't forget to share this link with a friend for some added motivation!
Step 3: Complete the workbook at the end of each video
If that’s not enough, you’ll also get a very simple workbook to help you along in your pilates journey that includes a fun cheat sheet where you can put your new found knowledge to the test, as well as a few other hints and tips to get you started.
This is really just for fun but if you have the time, I’d encourage you to try and fill it in because it can really help the learning process and it’s only 3 small things you’re actually learning!
Definitely be sure to check out the hints and tips section though! There are some little nuggets of gold in there just for you.
And that's it! It’s a really fun and simple series and I’d love for you to try it - what have you got to lose other than that persistent back pain?!
And if you're still undecided, remember this, I charge £80 for a beginners pilates course but I'm giving it to you for free because I believe you're worth that investment and that understanding these 3 things will change your life.
